High performance lithium battery manufacturer is first Korean Lithium Ion large format battery manufacturer to gain ISO based certification critical to the transportation markets.
Santa Clara, California—June 10, 2009—Energy Innovation Group Ltd. (EIG) a company that manufactures high energy and power density lithium ion batteries achieved ISO/TS16949 certification for its design, development and production processes.
“We are proud to be the first Korean large format lithium ion battery manufacturer to receive this certification and validation of our processes at EIG. While our customers have always embraced our products and processes with confidence this certification provides further validation for those customers who do not yet know EIG,” said Seog Bum Kang, Chief Executive Officer of EIG Ltd.

ISO/TS16949 is and automotive quality management system based on ISO 9001 and emphasizes defect prevention and reduction of variation and waste at all steps in the design and manufacturing process. This standard is the required QMS standard for the global automotive supplier base.
